Too Hot To Handle! Xiaomi Mi3 Launch Ends Up Crashing, Flipkart Buyers In A Tiff

The much awaited Xiaomi Mi3 went up for sale earlier today and within minutes everything has gone awry. Online site Flipkart.com, the exclusive partner for selling Xiaomi products in the country has shown its true colours yet again with the site crashing down on more than 100,000 pre-ordered customers looking to find their way through to buy the Mi3.

This is not the first time we're hearing about Flipkart crashing owing to heavy traffic issues as similar incident occurred when Motorola decided to take the online-only route with Moto E and Moto G smartphone in the country earlier this year. And now, the same has occurred owing to high-traffic reading on the site for buying the affordable Xiaomi Mi3.

The curious part about this mishap for Flipkart reflects on the company's inability to weather the storm which was predicted much earlier than it actually occurred. Just last week, Flipkart announced that more than 100,000 customers have registered/ pre-ordered the Mi3 on their site which was going to be made available from 22nd July i.e. today. Much reminiscent to the Indian Railways booking site, IRCTC.in, Flipkart goes for a toss, the moment anyone tried to make the payment for Mi3 and instead of getting the expected message of "You purchase was successful", all one can see is this error message

10 tips to protect your Android device

Android is the most popular mobile platform in India. One of the major reasons for its popularity is the flexibility it offers in terms of customization and the abundance of third-party apps.

Apps can even be side-loaded, bypassing Google’s Play Store app marketplace. However, all this also makes Android vulnerable to security threats and malware.

Moreover, with our increasing reliance on smartphones and tablets, we’re storing more private data than ever before, leaving us more vulnerable to data thefts. So how do you protect yourself from losing precious personal and work data accessed via Android devices? Here are 10 tips to help you secure your Android gadgets:
Use a screen lock
Use a screen lock

The most basic security measure for every Android device, a screen lock allows you to guard the device by using a pattern, PIN or password.

The lock can be activated through the Android device’s Security Settings. Following the activation of the lock, the device can be set to lock automatically after a specific time period or by pressing the Power key.
Encrypt your device

Android allows you to encrypt all the data on your device. You’ll need to key in a password or PIN each time the device is turned on to decrypt all the data.

If the phone gets into the wrong hands, there’s no way to access the data without a password or PIN if the device is restarted. This way, your sensitive data stays safe though the device becomes a little slow.

It can be activated through the Android device’s Security Settings.
Using personal device for work? Talk to IT

According to security solutions firm ESET, around 30-40% of devices in workplaces are vulnerable to threats unless users are educated about risks.

If you plan to use your personal device for work, check with your workplace’s IT team before configuring it to access and store work related data.
Activate Google’s Android Device Manager
Activate Google’s Android Device Manager

Even if you lose your device, the Android Device Manager feature allows you to track a (connected) device on Google Maps.

It also enables you to ring the device at full volume for five minutes and even erase all the data.

To verify if it's enabled, you can go to the Settings menu on your device and tap on Security. It can be enabled through the Device Administrators setting under Security Settings.
Don’t store sensitive data on SD cards

Make sure you don’t store sensitive information such as copies of credit cards and personal IDs on external storage cards since it is easy to remove them and access the data stored.

If you need to store important information, keep it on internal storage.
Don’t install apps from unknown sources

While apps on the Google Play Store are not curated as diligently as Apple’s App Store, it is still the safest place to download and install apps on Android platform.

Installation files (APKs) sourced from third-party sites should be dealt with caution as they might hide malware or spyware.
Install locks for apps

You can use additional protection for apps like Gallery and Messaging to protect private data.

A number of apps are available on Play Store that offer an additional level of protection for individual apps. Such apps ask you to set up a password or PIN code that needs to be entered whenever you open the particular protected apps.
Don’t root your phone
Don’t root your phone

By rooting your phone, you can install custom Android ROMs and even some incompatible apps.

However, apps with root access get unhindered access to your device’s file-system, exposing it to more damage in case a malicious app is installed. It also voids your phone’s warranty.
Sign out or use incognito mode while browsing
Sign out or use incognito mode while browsing

Remember to sign out of Chrome while browsing the web on an Android device or use incognito mode, especially if you share devices and PCs.
Chrome records your search and browsing history and syncs it across all devices on which you have signed-in.

Road to riches: Ecommerce firms like Flipkart, Snapdeal say they too can make their low-level workers millionaires

NEW DELHI: InfosysBSE 3.45 % founder Narayana Murthy's chauffeur and personal assistant had hit headlines in late 1990s for having crossed the wealth barrier - when value of their stock options skyrocketed. Office boys, warehouse supervisors, clerks, receptionists and other non-managerial employees of some of India's sharpest ecommerce firms can cross that same barrier, provided their firms offer a buyback or they get listed or there's an M&A activity.

Flipkart, Snapdeal, ShopClues and Infibeam are among e-commerce notables that have stock options for lowerrung, non-managerial staff. A typical example of the next inspiring wealth creation story may well be Shambu Biswas. He joined a six-member Bangalore startup as an office boy in 2009 and received employee stock options (Esops). That startup is Flipkart, expected to be valued at around $5 billion after the next round of fund-raising.

Esops given to Biswas, who earns Rs 15,000 a month now, can at that time cross the Rs 10-lakh mark. They are worth around Rs 7 lakh currently. And the good thing for Biswas and six other Flipkart employees at the level of administration assistants and operations executives, who between them hold 0.07% of the company's Esops, is that they don't have to necessarily wait for an IPO.

Flipkart can offer to buy back and indeed, Biswas sold 10% of his Esops last year and put Rs 40,000 in a fixed deposit. For lower-rung employees, this is a game changer - the value of their Esops, Flipkart says, is between four and thirteen times their annual salaries. Flipkart's rival Snapdeal told ET it has four employees at the lower level who have Esops. But Snapdeal refused to share details of these. Neither did it answer questions on how employees can encash these Esops. Snapdeal is value   at about a billion dollars.

How I made 46 Adsense Approvals In A Month and named as Adsense Goddess | A Case Study By Lasya K

adsense-trick-adsense-goddess-lasya-k

How did I do These Many Adsense Approvals ?

From the beginning I haven't faced any problems. And I have made approvals in both sectors like Hosted to Genuine and direct genuine adsense. I have learned every single point of Adsense policies and learnt many things from the people who are always getting disapproved by Google. This made me to do 46 successful adsense approvals. I have done this for just to help people and to get benefit for their self. And now what the changes I use to do before applying for adsense will be explained clearly as follows.

Main Thing You Need To Remember Before Applying For Adsense

The adsense can be applied for Long term blogs or Niche blogs. No matter which blog it is, just follow the points I say ( to my knowledge ). The main things that are required for Adsense Approval are explained one by one as follows.

1. See that Custom Domain is atleast 45 days old

Must and should our Custom Domain or blog should be atleast 45 days old. So, that there is a possibility to get adsense approval as I got for one of my blog.

2. The template should be responsive

The template that we are applying for our blog is also very important as it plays a crucial role for Adsense Approval. Best thing is apply the Theme which had already approved for Adsense. Edit the template clearly and see that every Icon is working perfectly with correct links that are lnked in template of HTML. So, that there are more number of chances to get approved.

3. Make sure that your blog consists of atleast 10 to 15+ posts

To get adsense approval atleast we have to write 10+ posts in our blog with good and genuine content. Never copy the content from other sites. Never miss to give Alt+text. Every minor thing matters here. I use to examine each and every thing in the blog before applying for adsense.

4. No Copied Content

See that no single line is copied from others blogs. And don't provide any links in your blogs like results URL's, Tickets of matches URL's,etc. Google consider them as copied one. If it is mandatory to provide URL in your blog, then the best method is to provide that link in text manner and then keep a "NOTE" that to copy that URL and paste it in new window to get results or tickets what ever it is.

5. The main thing is About Us, Contact Us

The minor things plays major role in Adsense Approval. About Us, is the page which is more and more important which should be filled with correct and required information. About Us can be filled with atleast 4 lines or even more, but correct information should be provided about authors and content that you are providing in your blog.
Contact Us, is also an important page where you have to check that whether the form is working correctly or not. If not change it soon.

6. Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions

This is most important and sometimes Adsense get approved by just changing these three forms. And I have experienced this in many cases not many almost in all case I have changed these three forms.

Disclaimer and Privacy Policy are mandatory to each and every blog. There is some unique content for these two forms. If and only if you keep those content in these forms, adsense approval gets Easy. For example you can consider our blog www.alltop9.com. You can see the Disclaimer and Privacy policy in our blog and change it according to your blog name, place and date. There are only two famous websites which provides us this type of content and I use them most for Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.
Terms and Conditions are not mandatory but there is no loss of publishing this page. Better to have this page also in our blogs. For the content you can check Alltop9.com Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

7. Apply Adsense for only..

If the blog is Tech, Health, Niche, Earnings, All Top and some other, then just follow upto now what I have mentioned above. But, if the blog is about binary trade, need to add binary trade related privacy policy and little changes should be done.
I suggest you people not to apply adsense for religion related blogs, Education sites which contains number of links. To my experience these blogs will get rejected by Google.

8. How to apply for Adsense?

If you have applied for adsense once, then when you apply again see that the address and Phone number should not matched. Generally it take maximum of 4 to 5 days for adsense approval. As now some Adsense policies are changed and made strong we need to wait for some more days.
IP address and Payee Name does't matter while applying for Adsense. When you submit your form, Google will review your form. Once accepted your form, you will be able to login into Adsense account and it shows a dialog box at the top in red color showing " Your application for website( you applied for ) is under review. For approval place a Blank ad code in your website for approval". Here, you need to do is create a 300X250 ad unit and get code, place it in your website on the right bottom of the home page.
Until and unless your application is reviewed by Google you will be seen only blank at that place. Once your application is reviewed and if it is successful, then you are able to see a real ad displaying in your website. That's it your website is approved for Adsense (50%). For fully approval of Adsense there is a PIN verification. ( This will be clearly explained in future posts).

Note:

As I have experience in Adsense Approvals I can easily change the blog according to Adsense policies and can get approved easily. It may difficult to you people at first but later you will be pro's in doing so. So, I suggest you people to read Adsense policies first and then proceed to get good outputs.

Final Words:

Every one call me as Adsense Goddess and this is the effort I used to keep for every single blog without expecting any single penny from others. I am Very happy to share this article with you people. In all my writings this is the First article (writing) which have 1000+ words. I hope this article will help you people to some extent. And these are the changes I used to do for every blog and some minor changes. All the Minor changes cannot be explained in this article, but those minor things also matters for Adsense approval. If I continue to write this, Aritlce will exceed  2000+ words. So, I conclude this here with 1000+ words. If any doubts regarding Adsense Approval or any issues you can contact me here: Lasya K Elzibeth (Adsense Goddess) LOL

Google Offers A Free Crash Course In Android Development

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LfVBFFoy9Y0

Google has teamed up with Udacity to make available a free course in Android development available to all – complete with videos, quizzes, course materials and forums. The course is called “Developing Android Apps: Android Fundamentals,” and it provides everything you need to learn how to make an Android app step-by-step; provided, that is, you already have a basic understanding of programming in general.
The Android course is presented by Google Developer Advocates Reto Meier, Dan Galpin and Katherine Kuan, and also features personalized feedback and direct guidance from coaches for students who are also enrolled in Udacity’s paid, guided subscription program. The aim of the program is to provide context regarding the history of Android and its creation, as well as teach you how to build actual Android software, with the aim of getting devs to the point where they can think in terms of Android programming instead of just shoehorning their existing experience onto the platform.
Google clearly wants to get more devs building software for its platform, and for good reason. Android is gearing up to be the OS that powers everything, if the announcements at Google I/O last month were any indication. Getting programmers to a place where they can “think like an Android developer” makes it a lot more likely that Android’s new auto, TV and wearable platforms become sticky, instead of something consumers don’t mind mostly ignoring.

Seven ways that Orkut was better than Facebook

Google recently sent an emotional email to Orkut users, informing them about the official (but long impending) closure of the service. While it was the first social media experience for a lot of us, after Facebook emerged on the scene and gained global domination, Orkut never really managed to catch up and got waylaid.

Now, it's been so long that you probably don't remember what it looked like — let alone your login details — but there are a number of ways in which Orkut was better than facebook, and ETPanache enumerates seven reasons why.\

There was less chance of malware

With Facebook, you've probably heard of people getting scammed into clicking on malware links which can compromise their account or share to their wall without permission. That never happened on Orkut, though it could be argued that this was before social networking took off.

You could change what it looked like

Facebook stays the same shadealone app. Features have been added to it — but back in the day, Orkut offered in-browser chat/messenger and video chatting.

It didn't have ads or sponsored posts

Google had a lot of funding to keep Orkut going - so there were no advertisements, banners or sponsored posts - at least at first. All the content you saw on the page was created by users. Ads in boxes (and clearly marked as ads) only came later.

Facebook stays the same shade  ..

You could customise it with apps

The top bar had a section called applications. Quite like adding extensions to a web browser, you could add apps and simple flash games to your Orkut page. These appeared in the applications sub-section on the home page. Each app showed the number of users and a star rating so that you could make an informed choice.

It was tightly integrated with other Google services

Like with other Google services, you could easily switch to Gmail, Maps, YouTube, Google Play, Drive, News and so on. Links to all services stay in a persistent bar on the top of the page.
It had simpler privacy settings and offered more control

Rather than having a huge list of terms and conditions with complicated privacy settings, everything with Orkut was simple and upfront. Clicking on Settings > Privacy showed you all the settings in one easy-to-read interface. Even within a scrap, you could change its privacy (or viewing) settings by clicking on the gear icon.

Orkut will be shutting down on September 30, 2014. Till then, you can still sign in and view all your photos, friends and scraps. If you have data in Orkut, Google provides a way to export photo albums to Google+. In addition, you can save your profile, scraps, testimonials, and community posts to your computer using Google Takeout (you can do this until September 2016).
